Beautiful story
which I found on the internet today about a priest, Rev. John Powell, a professor of Loyola University in Chicago and Tom, an Atheist in his "Theology of Faith" class.

That was a beautiful story
Sad, though. Not theologically sad, of course. But it kinda broke my heart to imagine the walls coming down between a father and son, leaving them only a few days to love each other. The sense of time wasted is palpable.

Does God find us or do we find God?
Austen, great story, thank you for posting it.
It brings up a subject that interests me, do we find God or, does God find us? After thinking about this, I'd have to say "both". It is a joint venture.
I like the part of the story where the author points out that God finds us when we stop trying to make Him a personal posession. Like the guy who says he will worship God when God moves a pencil on his command.
It is an act of our own free will to search for God. But we have to credit God with the oppurtunites that are offered.
