A snippet of Paul to the Corinthians

Also from today's readings: But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning,
your thoughts may be corrupted
from a sincere and pure commitment to Christ.
For if someone comes and preaches another Jesus than the one we preached,
or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received
or a different gospel from the one you accepted,
you put up with it well enough.

I just post this here because I love that this letter, some two millenia old, just absolutely nails the modernist revisionism of Jesus, where he becomes a Marxist or a freedom fighter or a pacifist or a Social Democrat or a Republican or a feminist or a progressive or a rabbi, just a man, with no more divinity than anyone else, and yeah, we will raise any new gnostic gospel that gets re-published as better than the real thing.
